Speeding
Maryland Speeding Ticket Lawyer
Under MD. Code, Transportation 21-802, it is unlawful for a driver of any automobile, truck, commercial vehicle, or motorcycle to drive at any speed exceeding the maximum allowable speed limit. Furthermore, drivers in Baltimore, Bel Air, Towson, Westminster, and all other jurisdictions in Maryland are required to reduce speed:
- To avoid collisions with other vehicles;
- At intersections where cross traffic is not required to stop;
- When approaching and crossing railroad crossings;
- When approaching and going around curves;
- When approaching the crest of a grade;
- On narrow or winding roadways; and
- When any special danger exists due to pedestrians, traffic, or weather.
If you have received a citation for driving in excess of the maximum posted speed limit by a Maryland State Trooper or a Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Harford County, or Howard County police officer, then you should have received an accurate citation stating:
- The speed limit; and
- How fast you were allegedly driving.
